  A smart lock is a mechanical and electronic locking device, which opens with an authorized user's access code. In a smart home, smart locks let a homeowner give others access to their house without needing a key. These can be installed with an app and will connect to the existing home security system. With the right app, a user will be able to see their trusted contact information, and the option to send them a text message or call them. The options are endless for smart locks to compliment any home security strategy. These locks are highly tamper-resistant. Most models are sealed against tampering with both the interior and exterior; however, it's still possible to damage the lock by inserting tools such as a screwdriver.
