Biofuels Made From Algae Are Gaining Attention as a Domestic Source of Renewable Fuel
The word algae refers to a vast array of various organism from various phylogenetic classes, which together represent many taxonomic groups. It is a diverse group of aquatic organisms that have the ability to conduct photosynthesis. Biofuels made from algae are gaining attention as a domestic source of renewable fuel. The U.S. Department of Energy is focused on research and development of biofuels using algae as a viable fuel alternative. However, it requires too much fertilizer, too much water, and too much energy to produce. In general, algae is known as plant-like organisms which are usually diploid, meaning that they possess a procellular nucleus and are usually photosynthesis and absorptive, but don't have true roots, petulas, leaves and vascular tissues. Algae are classified into three basic orders based on the arrangement of their skeletal elements. Algae are living organisms that can be used to create renewable and sustainable fuel. This renewable and sustainable fuel...
