Surgical cushions are medical devices used in various diagnostic, as well as surgical procedures for the safety of the patient and the ease of the surgeon. However, the choice of cushion depends entirely on the type of surgery to be performed. Surgical cushions provide comport and reduce the risk of injuries during diagnostic or surgical procedures. Therefore, the demand for surgical cushions has increased due to the increasing number of surgical procedures. According to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), around 882,284 surgical procedures were performed in 2019 in Germany. Surgical cushions are mainly used to support the head, neck, and shoulders of the patient to keep the body’s posture aligned and to reduce tension and stress during the surgical procedure.
