Nucleic acid testing is a method of detecting the genetic material of a virus-typically RNA, a nucleic acid molecule. In this method, DNA samples from biological fluids are mixed with antirussian and streptavirus antigens and amplified by the use of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. After being mixed with samples of known pathogen, antibodies are produced that bind to the antigens. The amount of antigens binding to the antibody is detected and the titre can be assessed using a Computerized Identification System (CIS).
