Melamine powder has wide range of industrial application owing to its flame resistance property

Melamine Powder

Melamine powder is a well-known chemical compound that has a host of usages in adhesives, plastics, paints, whiteboards, countertops, decors & dishes. The melamine used is mixed with formaldehyde to generate melamine resins. It is widely used as a stabilizer for cement. Melamine is one of the main elements in Pigment Yellow, a popular pigment in plastics and inks. Melamine sulfonate is commonly used as a preservative in paints, adhesives and as a thermosetting adhesive in carpet underlayment. Sulfated melamine monomer (SMM) is also used as a thermosetting adhesive in such materials as linoleum, vinyl flooring, ceramic tiles, and stone. It can also be found in synthetic rubbers and synthetic resins. Also, it is largely used in industries where it is widely used in formaldehyde molding compounds. Formaldehyde molding compound has gained a lot of popularity in the last few decades and is now extensively used in almost every industry across the world. In addition, it is widely used in the automobile industry for various parts and components that require heat resistance capability and flame-proof properties.

The powder is mainly used in the production of glass products, especially in the glass industries for developing colorless glass objects and in photoengraving. In glass items, it is mostly found in the forms of powders and sheets. The powder is also widely used in thermal insulating materials for preventing the expansion of thermal energy while preventing thermal contraction, which is important in aerospace and defense applications. In such applications, it provides good protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In thermoplastic materials, mainly in polymers and thermosetting resins, it serves as an added heat resistance.

With the wide range of uses and applications, Melamine Powder finds usage in many areas. It is available in various forms such as powder, sheets, and flakes. However, the most popular and extensively used form is in form of melamine resin, a hard, transparent liquid that easily mixes with water.
