Industrial Protective Footwear has become mandatory in numerous industries to protect workers from a hazardous environment and offer comfort while working

Industrial Protective Footwear

Industrial protective footwear comprises materials like plastic, textile, or rubber, and has a high degree of thermal and abrasion resistance for wet or oily conditions. It prevents employees from falling on the work floor because of slip hazards, cuts, scrapes, burns, etc. Some common protective footwear used in industrial workplaces is safety shoes, heavy-duty protective boots, work gloves, safety glasses, and dust covers. Rubber manufacturers make industrial protective footwear to serve different industrial and manufacturing requirements. Rubber is essential in various industries as it serves as a hardworking material, a flexible product, yet remains inexpensive and long-lasting. A wide range of rubber applications and products are provided by rubber manufacturers.

In the past, rubber has been largely used as an insulating material that could reduce the temperature of thermal oils. Because of its many advantages, rubber is now used to provide thermal insulation in various applications. Demand for industrial protective footwear has increased in North America as a result of the rising temperatures and expected increases in temperatures throughout the North American region. The expected increase in temperature is due to global warming. As a result, the demand for rubber fibers in footwear and protective gear in the North America region has increased.

Amongst all the footwear types, the one which has gained tremendous popularity in the last two decades is leather footwear. Leather footwear is highly demanded in the industrial set-up because of its many advantages. The foremost advantage leather footwear offers is its water-resistance feature. Though leather footwear can be a little bit heavy, it provides complete protection from water and even harmful UV rays. Recently, in August 2020, BASF, a German chemicals company, collaborated with Manical, an Argentine footwear brand, to launch the first safety shoe in South America made with Infinergy, Expanded Thermoplastic Polyurethane (E-TPU).
