highway networks.
Some of the newest additions to the Highway Safety Regulations
include crash barriers. There are currently several different crash barrier
systems that have been developed and introduced onto the highways. Some of
these crash barriers are simple cones that prevent vehicles from smashing into
each other. Other systems are much more complex, containing steel bars or
welded sections that act as a barrier against the force of an impact.
Regardless of the technology used, crash barriers help to reduce the number of
fatalities and injuries that occur in major auto collisions.
