Personal and Entry Level storage (PELS); Used to Store and Manage the Large Amount of Data Generated by Applications
Personal and entry-level storage (PELS) is a data storage
facility used to store and manage the data, which is generated on a daily
basis, appropriately for future use. Different types of storage systems and
technologies are available in the market for this purpose, such as hard disks,
CDs, DVDs, flash memories, and solid-state drives, among others. Personal and
entry-level storage (PELS) is a secure, affordable, smart, simple, and
high-performance data storage facility. This helps enterprises to start small
and grow with cloud-connectivity.
Cloud-based storage helps reduce the cost associated with
data storage as there is no need for a data storage system. It is also used to
store and manage a vital data for the future use. The personnel and entry level
storage (PELS) is used to store and manage the large amount of data generated
by applications. Thus, there is an increasing demand for PELS due to rise in
volume of digital data and increased penetration of internet worldwide.
According to the World Bank, in 2019, around 87.3% of the U.S. population
accessed the internet via any device.
Currently, there are around 284 million internet users in
the United States. To maintain the integrity of the data, it is necessary to
protect data from theft and physical damage. This can be done by limiting
access to the data. Thus, with increasing concerns towards data storage, the
need for safe and cost-effective data storage facility is also increasing. Moreover,
to meet the data storage demands, organizations are adopting different types of
data storage architectures such as cloud based storage, direct attached storage,
network attached storage, and others.
This in turn is expected to increase the demand for personal
and entry level storage (PELS). Adoption of cloud-based storage is
growing rapidly as organizations seek safe, cost-effective solutions for their
data storage needs. Network attached storage is the most widely used data
storage technology in small and medium business organizations because a single
storage device is shared with the network for all users.
