If the culture of the staphylococcus bacteria is done in a petri dish then this will not yield a reliable test result. In order to identify whether or not the antibiotic is having any effect, cultures should be performed on a group of healthy individuals. Once the results are positive, it is often necessary to conduct other treatments in order to combat the resistant staphylococcus infection.
