electrodes are used to generate heat in welding. This is essential especially
for metal arc welding or gas arc welding, which requires high temperatures to
join two pieces of metals together. At higher temperatures and in large amounts
of current, the metal becomes malleable and ductile so that it can be joined
with ease. Tungsten inert gas used in welding is similar to the pure tungsten
but with less tendency of becoming molten at high temperatures.

more comfortable for the welder and gives the welder greater arc grip because
the rounded top has a better arc grip. The rounded top will also reduce the

tip. The tip helps control the center of mass of the arc and the no tip allows
for a uniform arc width and keeps the arc from spilling over to the base metal.
