Tallow Fatty Acids is rich source of vitamin E, alpha lipoic acid, vitamin A, beta carotene, potassium, niacin, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and bromine
Tallow,
or copra, is a natural product that comes from the steam distillation of the
oil from certain trees. When trees are tapped to get oil, tannin is produced.
During the distillation process, oil passes through an absorbent layer on the
top, where it is heated before it is transferred to a cooling vessel for
further processing. Tallow, which is generally black in color, is very useful
for fuel since it has a high smoke point and flame retardant properties.
Tallow,
which is commonly used as a lubricant and in personal care products, is made
from the byproducts that result when tallow is processed. The tallow
fatty acids present in the oil have great lipophlic activity that can
prevent and eliminate a variety of lipid-soluble disorders, including
atherosclerosis, cholesterol clogging, plaque formation, and eczema. Tallow is
also known to act as a mild laxative, due to its ability to increase urine
flow. Its cleansing and deodorizing properties make it highly effective in
cosmetics and personal care products as well.
There
are four different types of Tallow salts; the basic (salt with the Tallow
acid), double baguacu, palm oil tallow acids, and the modified shortening
(acid) Tallow. These different salts are commonly used in personal care and
cosmetic products as well. The most common type is the basic Tallow which is
found in most body and face care products. Other salts are designed
specifically for skin and hair care such as palm oil tallow acids and modified
shortening Tallow.
Tallow
acid is obtained from the hydrolysis of animal tallow (or raw meat) which has
been made into a pasty, white or darkish substance by raising the temperature
of the water and then allowing it to dry. This tallow fatty acids are then
obtained by the distillation process. Tallow is an essential to the production
of a number of other ingredient products because it has a very unique and
valuable characteristic.
