With the expansion of sealing techniques like thermal tape, O-ring sealants, compression packing, etc., there is an increasing need for reliable and effective mechanical shaft seals. Major players in the gasket and seals market include, Freudenberg, SKF, Federal-Mogul, Parker-Hannifin, and Cooper Standard among others. In May 2020, Germany-based Freudenberg acquired 100 percent of the shares in Low & Bonar PLC, the U.K.-based manufacturer of technical textiles.
