Pasta is typically a thin type of meal typically prepared from the pressed dough of wheat flour mixed with water or eggs and shaped into dough, typically sheets or strips, and then baked in the oven, sometimes also by baking, but mostly by boiling. It is one of the most common foods on earth. There is pasta from all over the world, but of course, the most well-known is Italian pasta which is probably the most famous pasta out there.

There are various forms of pasta that are most popular in Italy, varying in size, shape, thickness, and style. Of course, this type is most well-known worldwide but there are also others from Spain, Portugal, China, France, Germany, and many others. In addition, there is the rice pasta, the semolina, the macaroni, fettuccine, lasagna, the Italian gelato, among others. The noodles vary as well - there are the flour noodles, the rice noodles, the semolina noodles, among others. No matter which type is used and what pasta is used, the result is the same - pasta.

Pasta can be of various types. It can be made from wheat berries or durum wheat. Some types are usually thicker and chewier than others. For a long time, spaghetti was the favorite pasta of Italians and today it's even more famous. In any event, pasta is the staple food for Italian cuisine and most non-Italian cuisines as well.

There are many different styles of pasta, just like there are many different types of Italian cuisine. There are the all-purpose, which are what we eat all the time, and then there are different varieties for different occasions and tastes. For instance, the Italians love their linguine which is cooked long, thin and cooked in butter or oil with meat or vegetables. Fusilli is also a staple food, as well as ruscilli, allele, provolone, Italian sage, etc.

Another thing that adds variety to pasta is the different types of noodles. There are the angel hair, flat wheat, spaghetti, linguine, udon, and the tortellini. Long, slender, chewy, thick, these noodles come in many shapes and sizes. Among them all, however, the favorite is the all-purpose. Of course, they are available in all different shapes and sizes as well.
