Single Carriage Ejector Racks; Designed to Store Weapons, Missiles, and Bombs
The single carriage ejector rack is a carriage system that
enables the rack to store weapons, missiles and bombs. It is a multi-purpose
rack assembly that can carry both air-to-air missiles and air-to-ground bombs. The
single carriage ejector rack can be placed on weapon carriage platform, on a
carriage adapter, under the aircraft wing, or within a bomb bay. This
multi-purpose rack assembly consists of multiple racks and large space, which
allows it to hold large bombs and missiles.
Single carriage ejector racks is considered a cost effective
option to upgrade and increase functionality. However, factors affecting growth
of this industry are relatively high price of raw materials for manufacture of
these rails. The raw components used for manufacture of these rails are
expensive, which further raises the overall expenditure of this system. The
increasing operational cost due to frequent breakdowns and repairing costs also
increases the burden on the revenue of an organization. Therefore, it is
necessary to reduce the operating cost by implementing useful solutions to
improve the efficiency of single carriage ejector racks.
The term rack is usually refer to bomb rack or rack mounting
bombs which covers everything from a support structure to its corresponding
rack. Whereas the multiple ejector rack refers to a support structure that
enables the carriage of six stores. A triple ejector rack refers to a support
structure that enables the carriage of three stores. With rising territorial
disputes and terrorist attacks worldwide and increasing government regulation
to monitor international borders to safeguard people against terrorist
activities, the demand for single
carriage ejector racks is also increasing rapidly.
For instance, in 2019, Raytheon received a US$ 47.3 million order
by the U.S. Department of Defense for 100 LAU-116 and 99 LAU-115 guided missile
launchers for the U.S. Navy, and 68 LAU-116 and 62 LAU-115 guided missile
launchers for the government of Kuwait.
