This would include everything from a basic operational function to design and manufacturing standards for every stage of the supply chain. It is a system for addressing problems, improving standards, defining and improving future working practices, and developing methods and metrics for achieving these goals. It is used in almost every industry, from aerospace to textiles, from pharmaceuticals to food.

The most important part of quality management is the process assessment. The process assessment of activity focuses on its impact on the organization as a whole and the impact it will have on the individual processes within the organization. A high-quality management system is designed so that all processes are focused on the same objectives, made to the same specifications, and having the same level of difficulty or risk. This way, the same quality indicators can be used for each activity in the organization and everyone is on the same page. One example of a process assessment is a statistical audit, which is performed to determine whether there are errors in the documentation that would affect the performance of the organization.

Control is one of the most important aspects of quality management. There are many different levels of control, ranging from on-site audits to control at the international level. The long-term objective is to improve the effectiveness of the organization as a whole and create a long-term trusted baseline. Improvement is the key to quality management, especially at the operational or tactical levels. It may involve new processes or modifications to existing processes. The aim is to identify opportunities for improvement in the organization in order to create systems, procedures, and policies that make production or operations more efficient
