Prophylactic Human Vaccine is typically designed to build immunity in a patient and also create antibodies for those antigens
The prophylactic human vaccine is
given to children before they could become infected with a disease. When we say
exposed, it means the moment that your child is able to come into contact with
an infectious object, be it person-to-person or objects held by other animals.
The protection offered by such vaccines is designed to stop the spread of the
illness to the child. Prophylactic vaccines are particularly important in
fighting the disease that is spread through touch. Touch can occur when a child
touches a surface, such as a hand or foot, and this can cause the transfer of
bacteria or viruses from one part of the body to another part of the body.
One example of such a vaccines is
rotavirus. This vaccine prevents serious diseases like diarrhea and typhoid
fever. It also prevents serious conditions like pneumonia and encephalitis.
Another one is the rotavirus vaccine for adults. This protects adults too
against common diseases that infect children. Adult diseases include influenza,
Q fever, Hepatitis, pneumococcal pneumonia, and varicella-zoster virus (VZV).
Since adult immunity wanes after this period, children may get these diseases
as well. For this reason, getting an adult vaccination is very important.
Rabies vaccine prevents the disease
caused by this canine form of illness. Although dogs can be infected before the
age of one, they do not get this disease until they are four to five years of
age. Rabies vaccination is given to the entire family to ensure that no child
is ever unprotected. Other diseases include Lassa fever, distemper, hepatitis,
parainfluenza, rabies, and toxoplasmosis. These vaccinations are given to
ensure the safety of children. Since the outbreak COVID-19 has led to
continuous R&D activities to synthesize new prophylactic
human vaccines where novel technologies are being used. For instance, in
April 2020, BioNTech SE, a Germany-based biotechnology company, received
regulatory approval for clinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is a
preventive vaccine.
