Dehumidifiers Are Beneficial To Individuals Who Suffer From Diseases Such As Allergies Asthma or Other Respiratory Conditions
A dehumidifier is a modern electrical appliance that maintains and reduces the degree of humidity in the atmosphere, either to eliminate dampness in the atmosphere and for personal comfort or for medical or aesthetic reasons, or for the removal of a musty smell and to avoid the growth of mold by extracting water out of the atmosphere. It is typically used for residential, commercial, and professional applications. The device can be powered by electricity or oil, or by a combination of the two. These devices take the moisture out of the air and change the physical condition of the surrounding air to make it more comfortable or livable.
In
homes, dehumidifiers remove the moisture from the atmosphere and replace it
with air that is cooler and more comfortable. This is especially important for
hot, humid areas of the home, such as bathrooms and kitchens. During humid
conditions, the presence of these devices provides comfort and convenience for
these areas of the house. The same is true for high humidity levels, which can
also create unpleasant odors and musty odors in the home. An air conditioner
removes the moisture from the air in most instances, but does not remove the
humidity levels in the space where the appliance is located, which is why it is
important to have a dehumidifier to control the humidity levels in the home.
Dehumidifiers
also are beneficial to individuals who suffer from allergies. Mold and dust
mites thrive in extremely moist environments, and individuals exposed to high
levels of humidity are at higher risk of developing asthma or other respiratory
conditions. These devices draw the moisture out of the air and raise the
humidity to a more acceptable level. By removing the moisture from the
environment, they allow individuals to breathe easier and this lessens the chance
of triggering an asthma attack or other respiratory condition.
In
Europe, the market for dehumidifiers is witnessing several M&A activities. For instance, in December 2020, Denmark-based
HVAC equipment manufacturer Dantherm acquired AirCenter AG, a Switzerland-based
supplier of air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and accessories. It follows the acquisitions of Aerial in Germany,
Sovelor in France, Futurclima in Italy, Termigo in Spain and SET Energietechnik
and Heylo in Germany.
