How Bicycle Helmet is preventing severe road accident injuries and offering comfortable ride for users?

A bicycle helmet is a type of headgear that fits over the top of a bicycle helmet. It provides protection from trauma and injury in case of an accident; it also acts as a cushion, reducing the deceleration force during an impact. While there are many reasons to wear a helmet, the most important is to reduce the risk of death or serious injury in case of an accident. It is estimated that around 900 people, involving over 200 children, are dying each year in bicycle-related accidents, and almost 60% of those deaths involve a serious head injury.

A hard outer shell helps prevent external deceleration and provides a solid and comfortable foundation for the inner lining, which is made of soft polystyrene foam. Many feel that these inner liners provide the best protection, especially of an impact. Studies show that regular use of a cycle helmet reduces the risk of serious head injuries and brain damage by up to 90%. There are many different types of bicycle helmets available for cycling, although all share a common feature: the expanded polypropylene core. The expanded polypropylene foam has been optimized to dissipate impacts without restricting movement or absorbing heat. In addition to the increased comfort and safety, many of the new helmet styles include mandibular vents to help keep air flowing through the inside of the hard outer shell.

A standard bicycle helmet does not provide the same level of protection in an accident, due to the fact that it does not include an inner liner. Standard bicycle helmets offer very little in the way of protection to prevent a traumatic brain injury or a fracture to the skull. Because these helmets do not offer much in the way of protection, they often lead to head injuries and deaths in their users. Many people injured in bicycle accidents suffer from long-term disabilities as a result of these injuries. In June 2020, Japan announced to tighten regulations regarding dangerous bicycle riding. Furthermore, in July 2020, Lumos launched Lumos Ultra, an affordable bicycle helmet with LED lights on Kickstarter.
